What kind of
"prints" will I receive?
Most people associate the word "print" with the kind of image that
comes from your average consumer inkjet printer. Each print
you order from FZR Photography
are custom crafted to the highest standards using archival methods
and materials. Only top-quality professional photo printers
using museum-quality papers are used. The image you receive is
a photograph in every sense of the word.
What are digital files?
Digital files are electronic versions of an image and come in
several
sizes:
A Small digital file (see
sample) is 800 pixels wide at its largest dimension. Small
digital files are typically used on team/club web pages, internet
forums, and email.
A Large digital file (see
sample) is 2000 pixels wide at its largest dimension.
Large digital files are great for sending to sponsors (see
commercial usage information below), using as desktop wallpaper, and
can even be used to make 300dpi 4x6 prints on your home printer.
The Original TIFF digital file (Too large to show a sample) is
4200 pixels wide and approximately 36MB in size at 300dpi.
These files can be used for making your own personal prints, posters
or billboard (i.e. the side of a race trailer or van). However,
please make note that these files are for Non-Commercial use ONLY!
And please, pay close attention to the Copyright Notices. They
can NOT be used in any commercial publication, advertisement, or
design without express written permission from
FZR Photography. If you
intend to use an image for commercial purposes, you must contact me
to discuss pricing, usage rights or image release. Most
commercial sponsors will require a photographer's release before
they will accept an image. I'm more than happy to work with
you on this, so please
contact me.
How will my
print/digital file differ from what I see on your site?
Each and every photo - regardless or size or format - is processed
to look its best. Years of digital darkroom experience are
used to crop, sharpen, clean, and color-correct each individual
image. For example, if an image appears too dark in the event
gallery it will have contrast adjustments to bring out color and
detail as seen below:

As well, the "© Shawn Smoak | FZR Photography"
watermark is removed from the final image.
How long will it take to receive my prints?
Prints up to 8x10 in size are typically mailed out via first class
mail within 3-5 days. Images larger than 8x10 will take 4-7
days.
How
long will it take to receive my digital file(s)?
Starting in 2005, the standard delivery method for digital files is
via online download. Using online delivery means that your
digital files will be available within 24-48 hours of placing your
order! Your digital files will remain online for two weeks, ready to download at your convenience. CD-ROM delivery
is also available.
Do I have to order online?
Absolutely not! If you wish to pay by check or money order
(please don't mail cash), simply add the images you want to your
cart, print the cart window, and mail your order to the address
below. You can also use the
order form you may have received at the track, or print one out

What if I don't like my
print/digital file?
Your satisfaction is
100% guaranteed, period. If you don't like what you ordered, for
whatever reason (or if damaged in the mail), I will replace it free
of charge. Simply
call or email and I will get a replacement to you as soon as
possible.
Can I make copies or scan my print?
Yes, but if you want additional prints I strongly encourage you to
let me print them for you. Scanned and reprinted images will
NOT have the quality of a print from the original image. If
you want a digital version of one of your prints, they are only $5
each at 800x533 pixels.
Can I print my own photos if
I purchase a digital file?
Please be aware that small digital files are not recommended for
printing. While they may look good on your computer screen
they will lack detail when printed.
Large digital files can be printed for your own personal use only!
They can NOT be used in any commercial publication, advertisement,
or design without express written permission from
FZR Photography. If you
intend to use an image for commercial purposes, you must contact me
to discuss pricing, usage rights or image release. Most
commercial sponsors will require a photographer's release before
they will accept an image.
